Go True North With Blue Nautical Stars Guitar Hero Skin

Rockers everywhere are drawing closer to the sailors nautical stars, but for a slightly different reason. Sailors used the stars at night to navigate the bountiful oceans. One star in particular was "the" star of choice, the north star. They correlated the north star with a means to find their way home. Once they knew where it was, they could point their boat in the right direction and sail their water-logged butts back home. Thus the reasoning for a homeward bound star.

Rockers, more specifically punk-rock, have adopted this star but for a different meaning. Instead of being meant to find your way home, it's more of a way to find your way in life. Most punkers are individualists. Have their own style, own sense of self and the nautical star gives them just that meaning. A way to find one's own unique, individual way in life. Just look at some punk bands. Check their style. If they are true you'll see a star symbol somewhere. Check the tats! I've seen them on the chest, fully covering the elbows and even above the navel on the abs. True to yourself, true to the cause, true north, the north star.

Do you have a dream, know who you are, are you an individualist, a "punker"? Then this is the perfect guitar hero skin for you. Stay true to yourself, true to the cause, true north with th blue nautical star guitar hero skin.

Slap Me Southern Guitar Hero Skin

A tribute to the history and legacy of southern rock, from the likes of the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Charlie Daniels Band, .38 Special as well as to southern rockers themselves comes this beautiful confederate rebel flag guitar hero skin. Probably one of the more famous rockers who played a guitar painted this way that comes to mind would be the late Dimebag Darryl from one of the hardest bands, Pantera! Another notable that plays a confederate flag guitar would be the equally hard and smooth stroker Zakk Wylde that has played not only with Ozzy Osbourne but has gone on to form a force of a band of brothers, Black Label Society. Are you southern enough to rock out with your axe sporting a rebel flag?
This guitar hero skin also comes in all the following flavors for guitar hero:

The Little Stinker

A guitar hero skin in the toxic series by AMR Racing. I really dig the radioactive symbols that are all over the base and head faceplates. Simply classic with a very large and predominant gray gas mask that looks to be inlaid in some sort of aesthetically appealing sun emblem. Very nice design that says stand back cause I'm fixing to lay down some licks!

This guitar hero skin is available for all flavors of guitar hero including guitar hero 3.

Welcome To The Jungle

That's what I feel when I look at this gorgeous guitar hero skin. A little Mr. Brownstone, November Rain, Sweet Child O'Mine, Get in the Ring, Paradise City. I can just picture it. There he is, the man himself, Slash, that notable stance, slouched over, looking down at the floor, hair down in his face, and just beating a lick out on that guitar that looks like this. Now, I don't know if he personally has one that looks like this particular guitar hero skin or not, but I definitely think it sure would fit him if he doesn't don't you. I just love it. Love it so much that I put it as the graphic at the top of this blog. Has kind of a dark image to it. All the skulls inlaid into the black and gray. The main skull with a mouthfull of roses and the playful musical notes, great design.

Funny little thing, I've got the graphic up as I type this and my 6 year old daughter just came in and looked over my shoulder and said "oh, I love that one". Yes, she's a guitar hero (junior) too.

Retro-Renegade-P-Funk, Is That A Style?

Well, I don't know what else to call it other than that. But this guitar hero skin definitely has a style of it's own. The maker (AMR Racing) calls the design "Arrows" and I can kind of see that as there is this big red arrow with a red circle around it, but that wouldn't have been my choice for a name. The main orange arrow tends to blend in and is not something that's noticeable at the start. There are a couple little offset white and yellow arrows but they are ones you have to kind of look for. I'm really digging the army green sunburst, certainly not something that you'd normally see, well the coloring, not the sunburst itself. All the diagnol lines and retro-swirls really seem to make this skin "Pop". The overall color design you wouldn't think would be very visually appealing, but surprisingly I think it is. The orange, yellow, green, creams and reds seem to flow very nicely. Definitely a nice skin for any guitar hero that wants their own brand or style.

This guitar hero skin is available for:
Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3
Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360 and PS2
Guitar Hero 1 for the PS2

Guitar Hero Skin For The Ladies

Oh yeah, this one goes out to all the ladies. You ladies know you can rock with the best of them. I'm not ashamed to admit it, my wife's beat me on several battles. But never one to lose the feminine side of things. This guitar hero skin fits the bill. A subtle pink faceplate that says "Yes, I'm female, and I shred!". This is simply an awesome little sunburst pattern in shades of pink with a vibrant pink heart as the focal point.

Union Jack - Guitar Hero 3 Skin for the Wii

What's the story morning glory? How about a little champagne supernova? Guess it yet? Ok, ok. All of you Oasis fans know what I'm talking about. Yes you too can make your guitar controller look just like that of Oasis's Noel Gallagher's epiphone union jack if you happen to be a fan.

Even if you're not a fan, I still think this ones pretty cool. It is a skin, therefore it's kind of a peel and stick, it's not a detachable faceplate. Eventhough the picture doesn't really show it, it is a guitar hero 3 skin for the Wii. You don't see the cutout there for the Wiimote, but it's there. The skin itself is made of very high quality vinyl supposedly 3 times thicker than any others on the market. It won't scratch, fade or peel. The skin is actually made of the same vinyl that is used in making off road ATV and dirt bike graphics so it should be very durable.

As guitar hero gets more and more popular, the variety of guitar hero skins available for the controllers are growing as well. These consoles are becoming more of a family time orientation than those that are simply stuck in kids rooms to play. Therefore, part of the ratings that I'll give these are based on that distinction. This one however, I like it. It's got a very sleek look to it and if it's sitting in the corner of a living room, it's got good appeal. This guitar hero skin is very family friendly and I give it a thumbs up.

Guitar Hero Skins: Do you need it?

For starters, if you don't have the game, get it. It is so highly addictive! But definitely get an alarm or something because you'll quickly lose all track of time and next thing you know, half the day is gone. Anyways, if you rock, you rock. One thing though that could've been done better in my opinion is the guitars. I mean, could they have made them any more boring? Luckily for us addicts, they've made guitar hero skins and detachable guitar hero faceplates.

Do you need them to rock, nah. Do they make your guitar look a little (well, a lot) cooler, oh yeah! Well I think they do. This is my little place in the online community to kind of show which ones I like and which ones I don't as well as discuss anything guitar hero with all. Join in, tell me I'm right, tell me I'm wrong, love to hear from you.
